Oh Kathal Kanmani - My View
After a long time, director Mani rathnam is back to form.
When "Alaipayuthey" released, it was talk of the town for its theme, not only in positive manner; in the other way too.This time director came with his "Oh kathal kanmani" with the theme of Living together in true Mani style.
I am sure it will create lot of buzz for its theme though he ended the story in positive way. May be people in villages will see it with shocking reactions but I believe people in metros will love it.
The film talks about current generation day to day life, job, work environment, parties and their attitude towards life. The film touches series topics and human emotions just like that on its way.
You don't feel like there is a separate scene for modern girl's carrier importance, women empowerment, how divorce will affect a child, previous generation love and affections. But film talks about these too.
One could see there are two love stories in the movie. One talks about previous generation and other about current. But it was differentiated very well by director.
The chemistry between lead pair works big time, cinematographer and editor ensured the feel of watching someone's life through a window. Music is the soul of the film. A.R.Rahman rocked with his best. The dialogues are in pure Mani style.
I enjoyed the film a lot and would say Mani sir is back and ok kanmani is just sample for that and we can expect more from him in his next.
